Division of English Learner Support Grant Opportunities
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is actively seeking Letter of Interest (LoI) from potential regional Education Service Centers (ESC), Institutions of Higher Education (IHE), and State or National Nonprofit Organizations for the following grant opportunities for the 2018-2019 school year.
Online Bilingual Education Certification Preparation Course Grant
The primary goal of this grant is to increase the number of bilingual certified teachers across Texas who provide instruction to English learners in their primary language (Spanish, Vietnamese) and English to meet state and federal policies.

Supporting ELs with Multiple Needs
The primary goal of this grant is to research, develop, and implement tools, resources, and professional development opportunities as part of a comprehensive web-based system of supports for LEAs to meet the complex needs of English learners with multiple needs, to include English learners with a disability, and/or who are gifted and/or who are highly mobile.

Supplemental 154 Assistance
The primary goal of this grant is to develop and implement professional development opportunities and training tools to assist LEAs who are wanting to build capacity in getting their teachers ESL certified who are not state mandated to provide language instruction to English learners.

Interested applicants should review the detailed Request for Letter of Interest attachment. To apply, submit the required response using the template provided in Attachment A. Applicants should reference Attachment B for guidance in developing high-quality responses.
These grants are being awarded as one-year grants that will be extended for two additional years at TEA discretion.
