The Texas Education Agency (TEA) transitioned to a new job application system on June 29, 2026.
What You Need to Know
- All applicants will need to create a new account in the new system. For detailed guidance, please see the CAPPS Candidates – Creating and Maintaining Your Account desk aid.
- Information from the previous system will not be transferred to the new system. This includes resumes, cover letters, recommendation letters, application history, and any uploaded documents.
- August 31, 2026 is the final day to access the previous application system.
Action Required
Before August 31, 2026, we strongly encourage you to log in to the previous system and download copies of any materials you may want to use in future applications, including:
- Resumes
- Cover letters
- Recommendation letters
- Supporting documents and attachments
You will need to upload these materials again when you create your account in the new system starting June 29, 2026.
Process to Access Both Systems
- Prior to June 29, 2026: Previous System Login Main Page
Steps to Unlock Your CAPPS Account:
1) Whenever your account is locked, wait five minutes and it will be unlocked automatically.
2) If you are requesting a password reset, the information will go to your original email that you used to set up the account. We have found that when a new password is sent, sometimes it comes faster than the system resets. So, after resetting your password, wait 10 minutes before attempting to log in (to avoid getting locked out again).
3) If all else fails, please reach out to SSA.security@cpa.texas.gov for further assistance.
- Beginning June 29, 2026: New System Login Main page
Steps to Unlock Your CAPPS Account:
1) See page 3 of the CAPPS Candidates – Creating and Maintaining Your Account desk aid.
Please note: TEA’s Division of Human Resources cannot retrieve username and password information or reset your password.
