Rebecca Matz is the Early Childhood Program and Enrollment Specialist in the Early Childhood Division at the Texas Education Agency. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Psychology and Development from the University of Alabama. In her position, Rebecca primarily supports the Early Childhood Division’s work with Pre-K access and enrollment. Previously, she was with the Capital Area Workforce Board at the contractor level for the Texas Workforce Commission where she served childcare centers, directors, and teachers in improving quality care and access to programs for families and children. Rebecca has also worked as a childcare director and teacher as well as in the preschool setting for children with special needs. Rebecca is passionate in assisting children and families throughout Texas access high-quality pre-k programs to build a strong foundation and skills to be curious, confident, and successful learners.
