Fastbridge

FastBridge progress monitoring allows you to frequently check in on Tier 2 and 3 students in your MTSS program. Use progress monitoring to measure their rate of improvement and determine whether targeted instruction and interventions should be maintained, modified, or intensified to close achievement gaps, faster. All of the progress monitoring measures utilize Curriculum-Based Measures (CBM), ensuring that they are:

  • Brief and won’t take away from valuable instruction
  • Simple and easy to interpret and apply
  • Sensitive to growth to show the effects of interventions over short periods
  • Valid, assessing only the specific skill areas that match students’ needs
  • Reliable and highly predictive of future outcomes

FastBridge recommends weekly progress monitoring in earlyReading, and all earlyReading tests have progress monitoring forms, with the exception of Concepts of Print, Word Rhyming, Sentence Reading, and Oral Repetition. For students in grade 2, we recommend CBMreading.

The FastBridge system identifies specific skill gaps and directs the teacher to the appropriate progress monitoring measure. The following:

  • Concepts of print
  • Onset sounds
  • Letter names and sounds
  • Word rhyming, blending, segmenting
  • Sight words, decodable words, and nonsense words
  • Sentence reading fluency
  • Oral repetition and oral reading fluency

FAST Projection is a new, patent-pending algorithm based on extensive research from the University of Minnesota. It is the only progress monitoring tool that gives teachers accurate data with just 6 data points. That’s half the amount as other leading solutions, leading to faster intervention!

Considerations for Universal Screening with FastBridge During Virtual Education

FastBridge assessments are online or one on one. Any online assessment can be administered to students at home that have a device and internet access can as long as they are made available to them by the school or district FastBridge manager. Other FastBridge assessments require a teacher to download and share student forms and administer the assessment directly with the student. The assessment can then be completed with a one on one virtual meeting. The assessment formats will determine the necessary procedures for distance-based screening. •

Fastbridge

FastBridge offers integrated reporting, creating seamless data between screening and progress monitoring and making it easy for educators to make instructional decisions so they can spend more time teaching. All reports are accessed in one place with a user-friendly dashboard. Some commonly used FastBridge reports include the following:

Group Screening Report: Quickly and accurately identifies and groups students by risk.

Group Growth Report: Highlights rate of improvement based on fall benchmarks and provides growth goals and comparisons to class, school, district, and national norms.

Family Report: Designed for parents, this report helps parents and teachers discuss their student’s FastBridge assessment results.

Screening to Intervention Report (S2i): The built-in Recommendation Engine guides teachers to applicable interventions available within their school and district. The Screening to Intervention (S2i) Report summarizes multiple assessment results into clear, actionable steps for students, subgroups and entire classes to guide appropriate supports. Once students are set up with an intervention, teachers can use brief progress monitoring probes to quickly track student growth. FastBridge not only shows student progress in easy-to-interpret graphs, but it also projects future performance in half the time as other solutions, allowing teachers to make modifications earlier to accelerate student outcomes.

Individual Skills Report: Provides a snapshot of the student’s risk relative to benchmarks on an item-by-item basis.

Group Skills Report: Summarizes skills by student and group, facilitating better differentiated instructional grouping decisions by teachers.

Student-at-a-Glance Report: Details all assessment activity — screening and progress monitoring — over time.

Progress Monitoring Report: Provides details on individual student performance by intervention, rate of improvement, date, trend, goal and more.

Identify At-Risk Students: When used consistently throughout the school year for universal screening, FastBridge provides access to reliable data across reading, math and social-emotional behavior (SEB) assessments. Teachers can apply that data to identify at-risk students and provide on-time, effective interventions.
