Special Education Monitoring Resources for Parents, Families, and Care-Givers
The Division of Review and Support at the Texas Education Agency ensures local districts and charter schools meet federal and state requirements for programs serving students with disabilities receiving special education services. Parents, families, and caregivers are important partners in the special education process. The resources provided on this page have been developed to help ensure the experiences of students with disabilities and their families are considered as part of the TEA's special education monitoring process.
The links below provide more information on how parents, families, and caregivers may be involved if their child's school district or charter school is selected for monitoring activities by the TEA.

Not all districts and charter schools are monitored every year. School districts and charter schools in the State of Texas are monitored by the TEA on a six-year schedule.
Go to the Differentiated Monitoring and Support web page to locate the complete schedule and find out when your child's district or charter school is scheduled for special education monitoring.
