SPPI 6: Measurement
State Performance Plan Indicator (SPPI) 6 measures the percent of children with individualized education programs (IEPs) aged 3, 4, and aged 5 who are enrolled in a preschool program attending a:
- Regular early childhood program and receiving the majority of special education and related services in the regular early childhood program; and
- Separate special education class, separate school, or residential facility.
- Receiving special education and related services in the home.
SPPI 6: Calculation
SPPI 6: Data Source
The data source for SPPI 6 is the same data as used for reporting to the U.S. Department of Education under section 618 of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), using the definitions in EDFacts file specification FS089. Local educational agencies submit student level demographic data specific to the amount of time spent in special education locations during the fall Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) collection.
