SPPI 5: Measure

State Performance Plan Indicator (SPPI) 5 measures the education environments of school age children aged 6-21 and age 5 enrolled in Kindergarten. This includes the percent of children with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aged 6 through 21 served:

  1. inside the regular class 80% or more of the day;
  2. inside the regular class less than 40% of the day; and
  3. in separate schools, residential facilities, or homebound/hospital placements.

SPPI 5: Data Source

Local education agencies submit student level demographic data specific to the amount of time spent in special education locations during the fall Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) collection.
