Charter Schools - AskTED Updates
Charter School AskTED updates require the charter school to email relevant changes to CharterAskTED@tea.texas.gov.
Please review the following requirements regarding the requested update type.
The subject line of all AskTED requests should be formatted as: [CDN] [Charter School Name] [CDCN] [Campus Name] when applicable.
Adding a Charter School Campus or County-District Campus Number Requests
Under Construction Campus
County-district campus number (CDCN) requests, also referred to as Campus Number Requests (CNR) require an approved amendment through the charter school amendment process (firstname.lastname@example.org). Upon receipt of amendment approval, the charter school may request a county-district campus number (CDCN) using the Campus/Site Request Information Form, previously the Campus Number Request form and emailing it to CharterAskTED@tea.texas.gov. The campus will be ‘under construction’ until the agency receives a valid Certificate of Occupancy and request to activate the new campus.
Activating a New Campus
The charter school must have completed the under construction campus process and received a CDCN prior to beginning the activating a new campus process. When a campus is ready to be operational and serve students for the upcoming school year, the charter school will need to submit a valid Certificate of Occupancy to CharterAskTED@tea.texas.gov prior to the campus being made public in AskTED. The deadline to activate a new campus in AskTED is September 1st annually.
Closing a Charter School Campus or REturning a County-District-Campus Number
Charter schools must first submit a non-expansion amendment through the charter school amendment process prior to requesting the deletion of a campus in AskTED. After receiving amendment approval, the charter school should email CharterAskTED@tea.texas.gov to request the removal of the campus from AskTED. The request must include the determination letter as documentation. AskTED campus deletion requests must be received by September 1st annually.

The tables below list the relevant information and fields which can be updated in AskTED. Some fields require additional documentation for processing including approved amendments or board resolutions. The charter school should attach relevant documentation with the original request to ensure timely processing of their requested update.
