Cameras in the Classroom Survey

The Texas Education Agency annually collects data through surveying local educational agencies (LEAs) regarding the requests each LEA receives for cameras in the classroom for a self-contained setting or other special education setting.

The survey collects data for each LEA in the following categories:

  • number of total requests
  • number of withdrawn requests
  • number of approved requests
  • number of denied requests, including the reasons for the denials.

Mandatory Data Reporting Reminder

Texas Education Code, Section 29.022(q), provides that "[t]he agency shall collect data relating to requests made [in accordance with Section 29.022] and actions taken by a school district or open-enrollment charter school in response to a request, including the number of requests made, authorized, or denied."

The survey is now open and is available through this link:
