Title I, Part A Distinguished Schools

The National Title I Distinguished Schools Program recognizes schools that have consistently shown strong academic performances over a three-year period.  The Title I, Part A schools earned an Academically Exemplary rating for the present school year and have a residing population of 40% or more low income students, as reported on the ESSA Consolidated Application for Funding.

Distinguished Performance Schools have achieved a minimum of Recognized status for the two previous years. Distinguished Progress Schools have increased their status from either Academically Unacceptable or Acceptable two years prior to Recognized or Exemplary last year and Exemplary this year.

Distinguished Performance Award

To be eligible for the Distinguished Performance Award, a school must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Title I, Part A campus in School Years 2013–2014, 2014–2015, and 2015–2016;
  • 85% or more of students served were low-income School Years 2013–2014, 2014–2015, and 2015–2016;
  • Met Standard in state accountability system in 2013–2014, 2014–2015, and 2015–2016;
  • Met system safeguards from 2013–2014, 2014–2015, and 2015–2016;
  • Campus is High Performance Reward School in 2013–2014, 2014–2015; and 2015–2016;
  • Highest 3-Year Passing rate for All Students Reading / Math.

Distinguished Progress Award
