Attendees learn where to go to pull data regarding statewide and regional workforce needs. Guiding questions facilitate table dialog to tease out priorities for engaging your community partners in workforce alignment to build out education programming.

A Look at New Statewide CTE Programs of Study

Learn about the Texas Education Agency’s statewide programs of study initiative and how career and technical education course sequences have been created to prepare students for in-demand and high-wage occupations. The statewide programs of study are advantageous for students and the economy of Texas by aligning education to the diverse needs of the labor market. The programs of study will go into effect for the 2020-2021 school year and will allow Texas to meet the federal program approval requirements within the Strengthening CTE for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V).

Take a Deep Dive Into Advanced Academics

Dive into the relationship between advanced academics (dual credit/AP/IB) and Blueprint OBMs with strategies for increasing rigor for ALL students. Presentation content provides reflection on current practice at the campus/district to identify barriers to enrollment in advanced coursework that need to be addressed to meet OBMs.
