PEIMS 2015-2016 Data Collection Schedule

PEIMS data files are submitted four times each school year following a schedule established by the PEIMS Data Standards:

Fall (Collection 1)

Fall data are used to:

  • Calculate compensatory entitlement
  • Monitor special programs
  • Report to the federal government
  • Calculate retention
  • Calculate basic profiles for AEIS
  • Perform desk audits

Important Fall dates:

  • Close of school-start window (last Friday in September): September 25, 2015
  • EDIT+ ready to process data: October 5, 2015
  • Snapshot Date (Last Friday in October): October 30, 2015
  • EDIT+ ready for ESCs to accept LEA and ESC files: November 2, 2015
  • First submission due date for LEAs and ESCs: December 10, 2015
  • Resubmission due date for LEAs and ESCs: January 21, 2016
  • Data available to customers: February 18, 2016

 

Midyear (Collection 2)

Midyear data include actual audited financial data from the previous year (2014-2015).

Midyear data are used to:

  • Report to the state legislature
  • Monitor special program expenditures
  • Audit districts
  • Perform desk audits

Important midyear dates:

  • EDIT+ ready to process data: October 5, 2015
  • EDIT+ ready for ESCs to accept LEA and ESC files: December 14, 2015
  • First submission due date for LEAs and ESCs: January 28, 2016
  • Resubmission due date for LEAs and ESCs: February 11, 2016
  • Data available to customers: March 3, 2016

 

Summer (Collection 3)

Summer data include:

  • Student attendance data
  • Course completion data
  • Discipline data
  • Restraint data
  • Title I, Part A data

Summer data are used to:

  • Calculate FSP final allotments
  • Calculate attendance and course completion
  • Create a portion of the AEIS
  • Augment the monitoring of special programs
  • Perform desk audits

Important dates:

  • EDIT+ ready to process data: April 4, 2016
  • EDIT+ ready for ESCs to accept LEA files: May 9, 2016
  • First submission due date for LEAs: June 23, 2016
  • Resubmission due date for LEAs*: July 21, 2016*
  • Data available to customers: September 15, 2016

 

Extended Year (Collection 4)

Extended year data include:

  • Optional extended year program (OEYP) data
  • Extended school year services (ESY) data
  • Bilingual/English as a Second Language (ESL) summer school program

Extended year data are used to:

  • Calculate ESY funding
  • Calculate BIL/ESL summer school funding
  • Monitor special programs
  • Perform desk audits

Important extended year dates:

  • EDIT+ ready to process data: April 4, 2016
  • EDIT+ ready for ESCs to accept LEA files: August 8, 2016
  • First submission due date for LEAs: September 1, 2016
  • Resubmission due date for LEAs: September 22, 2016
  • Data available to customers: October 20, 2016

 

*LEAs registered with TEA with year-round tracks ending later than June 23, 2016 may delay resubmission until two weeks following completion of the latest year-round track or August 18, 2016, whichever comes first.  However, the initial data delivery for submission 3 must still be made by June 23, 2016, for all LEAs. In no case will any resubmission be processed after August 18, 2016. Corrections made beyond August 18, 2016 will be handled by State Funding.
