RDA Masking Rules
Masking refers to the use of special symbols to conceal data as required by the federal Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) for the purpose of protecting student confidentiality. Any information that could lead to the identification, either directly or indirectly, of a student is masked according to the masking rules below.
