PEIMS 2013-2014 Data Collection Schedule
PEIMS data files are submitted four times each school year following a schedule established by the PEIMS Data Standards.
Fall Collection (Collection 1)
Fall data includes data collected in the school start window. Fall data are used to:
- Calculate compensatory entitlement
- Monitor special programs
- Report to the federal government
- Calculate retention
- Calculate basic profiles for AEIS
- Perform desk audits
Important Fall dates:
- Close of school-start window - Last Friday in September - September 27, 2013
- EDIT+ ready to process data - October 7, 2013
- Snapshot Date - October 25, 2013
- EDIT+ ready for ESCs to accept LEA and ESC files - October 28, 2013
- First submission due date for LEAs and ESCs - December 5, 2013
- Resubmission due date for LEAs and ESCs - January 16, 2014
- Data available to customers - February 20, 2014
Midyear Collection (Collection 2)
Midyear data include actual audited financial data from the previous year (2011-2012). Midyear data are used to:
- Report to the state legislature
- Monitor special program expenditures
- Audit districts
- Perform desk audits
Important midyear dates:
- EDIT+ ready to process data - October 7, 2013
- EDIT+ ready for ESCs to accept LEA and ESC files - January 6, 2014
- First submission due date for LEAs and ESCs - January 30, 2014
- Resubmission due date for LEAs and ESCs - February 13, 2014
- Data available to customers - March 6, 2014
Summer Collection (Collection 3)
Summer data include student attendance data, course completion data, discipline data, restraint data, and Title I, Part A data.Summer data are used to:
- Calculate FSP final allotments
- Calculate attendance and course completion
- Create a portion of the AEIS
- Augment the monitoring of special programs
- Perform desk audits
Important Summer dates:
- EDIT+ ready to process data - April 7, 2014
- EDIT+ ready for ESCs to accept LEA files - May 12, 2014
- First submission due date for LEAs - June 26, 2014
- Resubmission due date for LEAs* - July 24, 2014
- Data available to customers - September 18, 2014
Extended Year Collection (Collection 4)
Extended year data include optional extended year program (OEYP) data, extended school year services (ESY) data, and bilingual/English as a Second Language (ESL) summer school program data.
Extended year data are used to:
- Calculate ESY funding
- Calculate BIL/ESL summer school funding
- Monitor special programs
- Perform desk audits
Important extended year dates:
- EDIT+ ready to process data - April 7, 2014
- EDIT+ ready for ESCs to accept LEA files - August 11, 2014
- First submission due date for LEAs - September 4, 2014
- Resubmission due date for LEAs - September 25, 2014
- Data available to customers - October 23, 2014
