Supporting Partners
The following organizations and agencies support the resources found within the Texas Elementary Agriculture Education Program. If you want to use this program in your classroom, you may receive support directly from the organizations or agencies.
You can also ask these local contacts for help with lessons or resources:
- High school agriculture, food, and natural resources teachers
- Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agents
They can help you arrange field trips or invite agriculture experts to your classroom.
The American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture creates games, lesson plans, activities, and videos about agriculture. It offers educational opportunities through training, farm tours, and grants, and awards scholarships to attend the National Ag in the Classroom Conference. It publishes accurate books about agriculture through Feeding Minds Press. Creating that first spark of curiosity about where food, fiber, and fuel comes from, and then being there with the resources to help answer questions is what the Bureau is all about.

The overarching goal of the National Center for Agricultural Literacy (NCAL) is to change how the world thinks about agricultural systems related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), their quality of life, and the environment. NCAL is a collaborative effort supported by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) - National Institute of Food and Agriculture, the National Agriculture in the Classroom Organization, and Utah State University.

The National Ranching Heritage Center’s mission is to preserve and interpret the history of ranching in North America and address contemporary ranching issues. The Center partners with author John R. Erickson in a five-book Ranch Life Learning series that explains ranch life through the humorous voice of Hank the Cowdog. These books were written to engage students in learning about ranching and to serve as resources for science and social studies classes.

Nutrients for Life Foundation’s aim is to educate about the importance of responsible fertilizer use in growing healthy crops, increasing food production, and feeding a growing population. The Nutrients for Life Foundation is a global organization consisting of members and collaborative partners that develops and distributes science-based materials to improve plant nutrient literacy and soil health knowledge and promotes fertilizer’s role in sustaining a growing population.

Texas Corn Producers is the farmer’s advocate. The association works to grow opportunities for Texas corn farmers through promotion, education, research, and legislative advocacy. Texas Corn Producers’ mission is to build a strong organizational support system and work as a legislative advocate to further the interest of corn producers and the corn industry throughout Texas. The association strives to continue to make a positive impact for our entire industry and our state.

The Texas Farm Bureau’s goal is agriculture literacy because what happens in the formative years sticks through life. The Texas Farm Bureau puts a big emphasis on youth. It thinks it’s important that youth know about the food they eat, and the fiber that makes up the clothes they wear. That’s why it challenges children early, so they can learn the truth about food and the farmers and ranchers who grow it. Youth education takes many forms. The Texas Farm Bureau’s goal is to provide accurate and concise resources and information.

The Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers Association promotes and advocates production agriculture throughout Texas and the United States. The association seeks out, as well as offers reference material for resource loan programs that promote and benefit wool, mohair, and meat producers. The association also seeks to teach future generations about the importance of sheep and goats to agriculture and our economy. In addition, the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers Association contributes to the future of our industry by providing scholarships to agricultural studies majors.
