SUBJECT: Cybersecurity Tips and Tools webinar series
TEA would like to inform Education Service Centers (ESCs), school districts, and open-enrollment charter schools of an upcoming opportunity to participate in a series of webinars being conducted by TEA. The webinars will be led by TEA's Chief Information Security Officer, Frosty Walker, in collaboration with the Data Security Advisory Committee (DSAC) to provide insight into the Cybersecurity Tips and Tools.
Data Security Advisory Committee
The Data Security Advisory Committee consists of members of school districts and Education Service Centers to provide guidance to Texas education communities in order to maximize collaboration and communication regarding information security issues and resources which can be utilized within the communities served. The DSAC has reviewed and recommended the Tips and Tools which have been shared on the https://www.texasgateway.org portal.

| The September 13th webinar will cover Incident Response readiness. When a cybersecurity incident occurs, it is imperative to follow documented procedures to process the incident. Understanding the life cycle of an incident and how to use the Incident Red Team (IRT) Redbook which contains the procedures and plans for such incidents can be critical for success. |
