Getting Started

  1. The following resources can most likely answer your question about special education laws and regulations:

    The Texas Legal Framework is an online platform that helps parents and other stakeholders learn about special education laws and regulations.
    Federal Regulations for Special Education contains federal regulations set by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services.
    State Regulations for Special Education contains Texas administrative rules that implement the federal and state special education laws and regulations. 
    State Laws for Special Education includes some of the state special education laws found in the Texas Education Code.
