Cyclical Monitoring Reports

Purpose

The TEA reviews data collected as part of any monitoring review activity to ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements. The TEA conducts cyclical reviews of all local education agencies (LEAs) statewide over six years. Cyclical monitoring activities determine compliance related to federal requirements, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and state laws to assist LEAs in resolving specific issues or concerns that impact services and outcomes for students with disabilities.  The cyclical monitoring reports provide the results of the LEA’s compliance review related to state general supervision requirements.

Cyclical Monitoring

Monitoring visits follow a standardized process and result in a published report. These reports are available in a searchable database using the Cyclical Monitoring Reports link below. LEAs have the opportunity to respond to any report, along with an opportunity to discuss relevant topics, in requested post monitoring meetings.  Nonetheless, the agency remains focused on data privacy. As such, in accordance with law, all student information, or information which reasonably identifies protected persons, is removed from the reports. Furthermore, data aspects that are normally public are limited, as required by law, for very small LEAs, given the issues with small data samples.
