TEA Announces Generation 29 Charter School Decisions

Charter Applicants Vetted Through a Rigorous Application Process Before Recommendation and Consideration by the SBOE 

AUSTIN, Texas – July 2, 2024 – The Texas Education Agency (TEA) today announced the State Board of Education (SBOE) vote following Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath’s recommendation to grant Generation 29 charters. Pending contract approval and the reconciliation of any final contingencies, the following four Generation 29 charter school applicants are slated to begin serving Texas public school students for the 2025-2026 school year:  

TEA Releases Results for 2024 STAAR 3-8 Assessments

Texas Families Can Access Their Child’s 3-8 STAAR Scores Beginning Today, Including Detailed Information Unique to Their Child and Resources to Support Learning 

AUSTIN, Texas – June 14, 2024 —The Texas Education Agency (TEA) today released the spring 2024 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) results for students in Grades 3-8. The results include assessments in mathematics and reading-language arts (RLA) in grades 3-8, 5th and 8th grade science and 8th grade social studies.  

TEA Awards Over $290 Million as Part of The Teacher Incentive Allotment

AUSTIN, Texas – June 11, 2024 – The Texas Education Agency (TEA) today announced over $290 million in Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) funds has been awarded for nearly 25,000 designated Texas teachers during the 2023-24 school year. These educators make up some of Texas’ best, and they work to improve student growth and success in their classrooms.
