TEA Announces 2025 Charter School Decisions
AUSTIN, Texas – June 27, 2025 – The Texas Education Agency (TEA) today announced the decisions on Generation 30 charter school applications following the State Board of Education’s (SBOE) vote on recommendations from Commissioner of Education Mike Morath.
The following Generation 30 charter school applicants are slated to begin serving Texas public school students for the 2026-2027 school year, pending contract approval and the reconciliation of any final contingencies:

Reading Language Arts Scores Surpass Pre-Pandemic Levels
AUSTIN, Texas – June 17, 2025 – The Texas Education Agency (TEA) today released the 3-8 Spring 2025 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) results. The results include assessments in reading language arts (RLA) and mathematics in grades 3-8, as well as 5th and 8th grade science and 8th grade social studies.
TEA Releases Spring 2025 STAAR® End-of-Course Assessment Results
AUSTIN, Texas – June 10, 2025 – The Texas Education Agency (TEA) today released the spring 2025 results for the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) high school End-of-Course (EOC) assessments. These results are a key measure of how Texas students are performing in Algebra I, Biology, English I, English II and U.S. History.
This year’s results show modest year-over-year changes, with gains in Algebra I and Biology and slight declines in English I, English II and U.S. History.
