Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)

When your concern can likely be resolved more quickly by your school or school system, we will use a collaborative process called Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) to support you. As part of ADR, we will connect you with your school district's superintendent, in writing, and formally ask that the district work with you to reach an agreement that addresses your concern.

How to Begin

To begin the ADR process, file a complaint with TEA. If you notify us that your concern was not resolved through ADR, TEA can conduct a compliance review to ensure your district is following statutory and programmatic policies and requirements. View the webinar below for more information on the ADR process and timelines:
