Out-of-State Application Instructions

If you hold an educator credential from another state and are seeking certification in Texas, you must complete an application to have your credentials reviewed.

Review of Credentials

To apply for out-of-state Review of Credentials log in to your TEAL account. Click the View My Educator Certification Account link. Update your profile and on the Applications menu select Out-of-State Certified Applicants. Select Review of Credentials from Another State or U.S. Territory. Follow the prompts to submit the application and pay the fee.

Out-of-State One-Year Certificate

Once the Review of Credentials has completed, you may apply for the One-Year Certificate. To apply, log in to your TEAL account. Click the View My Educator Certification Account link. Update your profile and on the Applications menu select Out-of-State Certified Applicants. Select Initial One-Year Certificate. Follow the prompts to submit the application and pay the fee.

Out-of-State Standard Certificate

Once you have completed test requirements, you must apply for your Standard Certificate. To apply, log in to your TEAL account. Click the View My Educator Certification Account link. Update your profile. On the Applications menu select Out-of-State Certified Applicants. When you come to the applications scroll down to the bottom of the page and select Standard Certificate. Follow the prompts to submit the application and pay the fee.
