PROPOSED RULE REVIEWS WITH CLOSED PUBLIC COMMENT PERIODS

Proposed Review of 19 TAC Chapter 231, Requirements for Public School Personnel Assignments
Summary: Texas Government Code (TGC), §2001.039, establishes a four-year rule review cycle for all state agency rules, including State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) rules. As required by the TGC, §2001.039, the SBEC will accept comments as to whether the reasons for adopting 19 Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Chapter 231, Requirements for Public School Personnel Assignments. The rules being reviewed provide requirements relating to the criteria for school districts to make personnel assignments based on the correlating certification requirements.
Public Comment Period: March 12, 2021–April 12, 2021. The SBEC will take registered oral and written comments on the proposed review at the April 30, 2021 meeting in accordance with the SBEC board operating policies and procedures.
Earliest Possible Date of Adoption of Review by SBEC: April 30, 2021

Summary: Texas Government Code (TGC), §2001.039, establishes a four-year rule review cycle for all state agency rules, including State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) rules. As required by the TGC, §2001.039, the SBEC will accept comments as to whether the reasons for adopting 19 Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Chapter 245, Certification of Educators from Other Countries. The rules being reviewed provide requirements relating to the certification of Texas educators from other countries.
Public Comment Period: March 12, 2021–April 12, 2021. The SBEC will take registered oral and written comments on the proposed review at the April 30, 2021 meeting in accordance with the SBEC board operating policies and procedures.Earliest Possible Date of Adoption of Review by SBEC: April 30, 2021
