The State of Texas Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Program is now the Veteran Heroes United in Business (VetHUB) Program. The VetHUB program focuses exclusively on certified service-disabled veteran-owned businesses (VetHUBs). State agencies are responsible for identifying procurements of $100,000 or more where subcontracting opportunities are likely and requiring prospective contractors to submit a subcontracting plan (now referred to as an SP) along with solicitation responses.
TEA is committed to assisting VetHUBs by providing equal opportunities to compete for all procurement opportunities at the agency. TEA's HUB Office within the Contracts and Purchasing Division (CPD) leads TEA's efforts to conduct outreach and provide support for VetHUBs in alignment with state law and public policy. The HUB Office sets annual goals, participates in outreach efforts, monitors compliance with laws, and facilitates the development of mentor-protégé relationships between agency prime vendors and VetHUB subcontractors.
