College Preparatory Courses for CCMR Accountability

College preparatory courses in English language arts and mathematics support students who are not yet college ready by providing targeted instruction in grade 12 and enabling successful transition to postsecondary coursework. These courses are developed through partnerships between local education agencies and institutions of higher education and, upon successful completion, can lead to Texas Success Initiative (TSI) exemption in the aligned subject area.  The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has transitioned to a standardized approval process and statewide course coding of College Preparatory Courses for CCMR purposes.

This webpage provides information on the application and approval process for course provider inclusion in the College Preparatory Courses for CCMR list, key implementation timelines, and the list of approved providers for CCMR.

TEA will maintain and update the list of approved college preparatory course providers annually.

Release of Updated College Preparatory Course for CCMR Accountability List (version 1.1)

The Texas Education Agency has released the updated College Preparatory Courses for CCMR Accountability list version 1.1

This updated list reflects newly approved providers and courses that meet the established criteria for supporting College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) outcomes. The version 1.1 list is based on the most recent performance data from the Class of 2024.

Beginning with the class of 2027, only college preparatory courses included on the TEA-approved list (version 1.0 and subsequent updates, including 1.1) will count toward CCMR Accountability.

College Preparatory Courses for CCMR Approval Process

To be considered an approved provider of college preparatory courses that count toward the CCMR credit in the public-school accountability system, course providers participated in an application process.  The results of this evaluation can be found below for English Language Arts and Mathematics. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) will implement the list of approved providers for College Preparatory Courses beginning in the 2026–2027 school year.

To apply for approval to offer college preparatory courses in English language arts and/or Mathematics for CCMR credit in the Texas accountability system, course providers can submit application materials in the fall of each year. The College Preparatory Courses for CCMR version 1.2 application cycle will open in August 2026.

Lists of Approved College Preparatory Courses for CCMR

The agency will continue to add newly approved providers to the list each fall as additional evaluation data becomes available.

Districts and campuses are encouraged to review the version 1.1 list to:

  • Confirm approved college preparatory course providers
  • Ensure accurate planning for student enrollment and reporting

Important Reminders

  • Only courses completed in grade 12 are eligible for CCMR credit under the approved list.

Districts may continue partnerships with non-approved providers; however, those courses will not count toward CCMR accountability. We encourage all stakeholders to review the updated version 1.1 list and make any necessary adjustments to support student success.

Unique Course Codes for College Preparatory Courses

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has issued a set of unique course codes for College Preparatory Courses (CPC), derived from submissions received through the College Preparatory Courses for College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) application process.

School districts are expected to implement these course codes beginning with the 2025–2026 academic year. The adoption of these standardized codes will enhance the Agency’s ability to accurately identify CPC partnerships statewide and to monitor student participation with individual providers.

Postponement of the Approved List of College Preparatory Courses to 2028 Accountability

In response to public comment received during the A-F Accountability Rating System Manual for 2026 ratings proposed rule public comment period, the agency is deferring the proposed change to give credit to only those courses on the approved college preparatory course for CCMR list until the 2028 accountability year, with the 2026-2027 graduates. This change will be reflected in the changes made to the proposed manual for 2026 ratings, which will be adopted in June.
