    New alternate assessment available

    TEA has developed the new STAAR Alternate 2 assessment to meet the federal requirements. It will be used to assess students in grades 3–8 and high school who have significant cognitive disabilities and are receiving special education services.

    The State Board of Education will meet Nov. 18-21. The full agenda is available online and the meeting will be livestreamed. Among the items on the agenda is the adoption of instructional material for social studies, fine arts, high school math and one CTE course.
