Adopted State Board for Educator Certification Rules - Not Yet Effective

The State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) has adopted the following rule actions, and the State Board of Education (SBOE) has reviewed them as required by statute. The agency has filed these rule actions with the Texas Register, and they have effective dates in the future.

The SBEC agenda provides detailed information on these rules. In addition, the SBOE agenda shows the rule item as it was presented to the SBOE. The items below indicate when the item was presented to the SBEC and SBOE. Currently, there are no State Board for Educator Certification rules that are adopted - not yet effective. 

Adopted Amendments to 19 TAC Chapter 244, Certificate of Completion of Training for Appraisers, §244.1, General Provisions, and §244.2, Training for Appraisers of Educators in School Districts Using a Recommended Appraisal Process

Summary: The adopted amendments replace references to the old state-recommended teacher appraisal system, the Professional Development and Appraisal System (PDAS), with general references to the state-recommended teacher appraisal system and add language to include training for appraisers of principals using the state-recommended principal appraisal system. The amendments to 19 TAC §244.1 and §244.2 were adopted with changes.
