Adopted Amendments to 19 TAC Chapter 53, Regional Education Service Centers, Subchapter AA, Commissioner's Rules, §53.1002, Charter School Representation on Board of Directors, and §53.1021, Regional Education Service Center Performance Standards and Indicators
Summary: The adopted amendments clarify existing rules, reflect current regional education service center practices, allow electronic application submissions, and replace the Performance Standards and Indicators Manual with a reference to online metrics. The amendments were adopted without changes since published as proposed.

Adopted Revisions to 19 TAC Chapter 100, Charters, Subchapter AA, Commissioner's Rules Concerning Open-Enrollment Charter Schools, Division 3, Commissioner Action, Performance Monitoring, and Intervention
Summary: The adopted revisions establish performance frameworks for charter schools established under Texas Education Code, Chapter 12, Subchapter G, including adult charter schools and adult charter schools in correctional facilities, by defining evaluation criteria in the new Adult Charter School Performance Framework Manual. The manual ties charter amendments, renewals, and expansions to these performance standards, including enrollment caps and discretionary renewal. The adopted revisions also update existing rules regarding expansion and renewal to reference the new performance frameworks. The revisions were adopted with changes since published as proposed.
