STAAR Modified Resources Archive
State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) Modified was an alternate assessment based on modified academic achievement standards. The state intended this assessment for a small number of students receiving special education services who met the participation requirements. The state administered the STAAR Modified assessments for the final time during the 2013-2014 assessment cycle. The U.S. Department of Education informed states after the 2013-2014 school year that assessments based on modified standards for students served by special education no longer counted toward accountability purposes.

2014 Raw Score Conversion Tables
You can find STAAR Modified raw sore conversion tables for 2013-2014 listed below. The basic score on any test is the raw score. You can only interpret a raw score as a particular set of test questions. Unlike raw scores, you can interpret scale scores across different sets of test questions. Scale scores allow direct comparisons of student performance between specific sets of test questions from different test administrations. A scale score is a conversion of the raw score onto a scale that is common to all test forms for the assessment. The scale score takes into account the difficulty level of the specific set of questions on a particular test. It quantifies a student's performance relative to the passing standards or proficiency levels.
