1. Discussion of Proposed Revisions to 19 TAC Chapter 110, Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for English Language Arts and Reading, and 19 TAC Chapter 128, Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Spanish Language Arts and Reading and English as a Second Language

This item provides the opportunity for the committee to discuss proposed revisions to 19 TAC Chapter 110, Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for English Language Arts and Reading, Subchapter A, Elementary, Subchapter B, Middle School, and Subchapter C, High School, and Chapter 128, Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Spanish Language Arts and Reading and English as a Second Language, Subchapter A, Elementary, Subchapter B, Middle School, and Subchapter C, High School. 2. Update on Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) Review 

This item provides the opportunity for staff to present an update on the review of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Statutory authority is the Texas Education Code (TEC), §§7.102(c)(4), 28.002, and 28.025.

3. Update on the Accessibility Audit of Proclamation 2014 Materials

This item provides the opportunity for staff to present the committee with an overview of the results of the accessibility audit of digital materials adopted through Proclamation 2014. The audit was conducted to determine the extent to which the materials comply with the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (20 U.S.C. 794d). Statutory authority is the Texas Education Code (TEC), §31.022.

4. Ethics Training

This item will provide State Board of Education (SBOE) members with a discussion of the ethics statutes and rules that apply to SBOE members. Statutory authority is the Texas Education Code (TEC), §43.0031 and 19 TAC §33.5(s).
