Overview

As digital threats continue to rise, protecting student data, staff information and essential network infrastructure has never been more important. In response to the increasing threat of ransomware and other malicious cyber activity targeting school systems across Texas, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) launched the K-12 Cybersecurity Initiative in 2023.

Upcoming Webinar

The TEA invites all Superintendents, Information Technology Directors, Information Security Officers and Cybersecurity professionals across the state to join a crucial webinar on strengthening cybersecurity defenses in the Texas K–12 environment. This webinar will not only highlight the resources available through the K–12 Cybersecurity Initiative but will also cover important updates, including:

  • New services designed to enhance and further mature school system cybersecurity capabilities
  • Updates to the Endpoint Detection Response process to improve visibility into actual licensing needs and promote full implementation across all in-scope devices
  • Continued support from Education Service Centers and Regional Security Operations Centers

Join us to learn how these enhancements can help safeguard your school system and ensure a stronger, more resilient cybersecurity posture.
