TEA Time, the TEA's official podcast, can now be downloaded on iTunes and other major podcast subscription services. The TEA Time podcast provides information on various TEA projects, initiatives, programs and specific public education issues.
Applications for the 2019–2021 Grow Your Own: Teachers, Cycle 2 grant program are now being accepted. The Grow Your Own grant can be used to encourage high school students to consider teaching as a career, as well as paraprofessionals and/or teacher aides to pursue certification.
TEA has been awarded two Students, Teachers, and Officers Preventing (STOP) School Violence Act grants. Both federal grants, worth $1 million each, will be used to support mental health training for Texas school districts, as well as establish effective campus threat assessment practices across the state.
