TEA will host Teacher Institutes this summer for mathematics, reading/language arts, science, and social studies. Highly qualified Texas educators are encouraged to apply to participate. Participants will gain a strong understanding of the STAAR® program and how it aligns with the TEKS.
Eight Texas school systems have been selected to be part of the Lone Star Governance (LSG) Exemplar Cohort II. The cohort is designed for local governing teams that aspire to leverage a continuous improvement mindset and framework in order to have the greatest impact on student performance and outcomes.
Recognize the contributions of your local school volunteers by nominating them for the SBOE’s Heroes for Children Award. Nominations are being accepted through 5 p.m. (CDT) June 14. A Texas resident who gives time, service, or support to the public schools and students may be nominated for the award.
