Congratulations to Krystal Contreras of San Benito ISD for receiving the Milken Educator Award. Contreras is a fourth-grade writing teacher at Dr. C.M. Cash Elementary School and the only Texas educator receiving the national award during the 2018-2019 school year.
The 2018-19 district accreditation statuses are now posted and 99 percent of Texas school districts are accredited. Accreditation status is based on state academic accountability ratings and School FIRST.
A new cohort of 15 school districts and open-enrollment charter schools and one Education Service Center have been selected to launch the Math Innovation Zones program for the 2019-2020 school year.
