Hurricane Harvey School Mental Health Supports: Needs and Challenges Survey

TEA is requesting your assistance to help identify school mental health challenges and needs post-Hurricane Harvey through completion of a brief online survey. The purpose of the survey is to obtain important information from knowledgeable staff and administrators in both districts and schools. While the survey is voluntary, your responses are critical to our state's hurricane recovery mental health response efforts.  We encourage you to complete the survey yourself and to share this survey opportunity widely with each school and within the district office.

We are seeking, at a minimum, a district-level coordinated response and a coordinated response from each school in the district. Additional responses from knowledgeable individuals serving each school, and from district administrators, are also welcome. Multiple perspectives, insights on school mental health and responses are encouraged.

The information collected will be used by Educational Service Centers (ESCs), the Texas Education Agency (TEA), the Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute (MMHPI), and others to identify opportunities to support school communities with post-storm mental health needs.
