Knippa Kindergarten Rockcrushers

 Knippa Rockcrushers

Knippa ISD may be a small school district just west of San Antonio, but their student achievements are anything but small -- because “it takes a little more to be a Rockcrusher” -- and from day one, every member of the Knippa ISD education staff is committed to building a strong educational foundation for all students. Knippa ISD teachers Michelle Ramsey, Tammie Brown, Crystal Piña, and Adreanna Zamora work tirelessly to build that foundation with a full day pre-kindergarten program.

Every May, these four instructors invite the parents of prospective students to a Pre-K Preview. This preview affords parents an understanding of pre-kindergarten student and parent expectations. Parents learn that if they partner with the school, then their child will be reading prior to the end of pre-kindergarten. The importance of that milestone is simple: a parent’s wildest dream for their child becomes that much closer to reality.  More than 90 percent of Knippa ISD pre-kindergarteners become independent readers every year.

With help from instructors Michelle, Tammie, Crystal, and Adreanna, parents become involved and part of the Rockcrusher vision, mission, and culture. The Pre-K Preview offers parents and students the opportunity to not only partner with teachers but to help their child throughout the school year.

Knippa ISD students, with the amazing support of parents and teachers, begin with a solid foundation and crush their educational and life goals. #IAmTXEd @knippaisd
