Subject: Ledger Balances
To the Administrator Addressed:

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) State Funding Division will soon begin the process of rolling ledger balances from prior years to the current year.

Because this process could impact your school district's current year allocation, we recommend that you review your district's ledger balances for prior years. Please review the balances for your district's Foundation, Chapter 41, EDA, and IFA payment ledgers. If the remaining balance column has an amount other than zero for the last entry for the relevant school year, the amount shown is a credit or debt that will be transferred to the current school year.

To access your district's prior year payment ledgers, do the following:

  • Visit the TEA School District State Aid Reports web page at https://wfspcprdap1b16.tea.state.tx.us/Fsp/Reports/ReportSelection.aspx.
  • Select "Payment Ledgers" from the drop-down list, and click Select. A new page appears.
  • Select the applicable school year, enter your district's name or county-district number, and click Submit. A page showing the Foundation payment ledger for the selected year appears.
  • To view a ledger other than the Foundation ledger, select the applicable ledger type from the Ledger Type drop-down list, and click View Ledger.

We anticipate that the process of rolling ledger balances will be complete by September 2013.
