The Schools In Need of Improvement Program (SIP) Academy is a grant opportunity provided by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) funded under Section 1003(g) of Title I of the NCLB Act for Title I schools in Stage 2 of the School Improvement Program. The grant provides additional funding and technical assistance to support these campuses in their continued efforts in the complex task of school improvement. Through campus-wide improvement planning in the summer, optional additional TAP days, coaching provided to the campus leadership team, and further customized professional development, campuses are able to take another positive step towards bringing together key people, programs, and information in order to meet Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) and raise even higher the level of student and adult learning on campus.
