The U.S. Department of Education approved our state’s request for renewal of flexibility from specific provisions of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (also known as the No Child Left Behind Act) through the end of the 2015-2016 school year. This is good news for our more than 1,200 school districts and charters because it provides relief from certain federal provisions.
