    Nominate Businesses that Support Schools

    The State Board of Education (SBOE) is currently accepting applications for the 2015 Employers for Education Excellence (EEE) Award. Texas employers who encourage and support employee participation in school activities are eligible to be nominated.

    Charter applicants interviewed May 4-7

     The Texas Education Agency (TEA) will be conducting interviews with 20 charter school applicants May 4-7. Interviews begin at 8:30 a.m. each day. Each applicant will be interviewed for about 90 minutes. The interviews, conducted at the TEA headquarters, will be streamed live on the Internet.

    National Teacher of the Year is a Texan

    Texan Shanna Peeples is the new 2015 National Teacher of the Year. Peeples is an English teacher at Palo Duro High School in the Amarillo Independent School District. This is the first time a Texas teacher has won this honor since 1957.
