     Three Charter Applicants Approved

      Commissioner of Education Mike Morath announced May 31 that he plans to grant three Generation Twenty-One charters. The State Board of Education will review the decisions July 20-22 and it has the authority to veto any new charter approved by the commissioner.

     Passing Rates Up on 13 of 17 STAAR Exams When Compared to 2015

    After four years of seeing little change, the 2016 STAAR results for grades 3-8 showed gains - some by as much as nine percentage points - when compared to 2015 passing standards.
