TEA Website: More Than Just A New Look

On behalf of everyone at the Texas Education Agency, welcome to the newly-redesigned TEA website. If first impressions are indeed important, then we certainly hope you like what you’ve seen so far.

The fresh look to the website brings many added features that are designed to be visually appealing and more user-friendly than our old site. While our old site design was functional and provided access to a lot of valuable information, the ongoing feedback we received at the agency centered on the difficulty in locating specific information.

To that end, our redesign aims at more than just making the site look nicer. For more than a year, we have been working internally and with stakeholders outside the agency for a design that helps get people to what they are looking for quicker. We’ve attempted to provide clearer avenues to information, created dropdown menus to the most accessed data, and pulled together information areas (regardless of which TEA department produces the information) to help users get a complete picture of an issue or program.

Finally, we have committed to making each area throughout our new site easier for everyone to understand with text in plain language. This will be an ongoing commitment, as will be our effort to continue improving on the site from feedback we hear from you. As with any major technical overhaul, we certainly expect some glitches. Please know we will work to address those as quickly as they are identified. So to that end, always feel free to provide your thoughts about the new site. We welcome your feedback. Thank you for visiting the TEA website.
