2012

June 14, 2012: June Texas Education Telecommunications Network (TETN) Accountability Update - TEA provides an update on the 2012 AYP Guide, key dates, and calculations. A brief update on the 2013 State Accountability process was also provided. A PDF of this presentation is also available.

May 24, 2012: May TETN Accountability Update (updated 5/31/12) - This TETN session provides district and Educational Service Center (ESC) staff with detailed information about the federal cap process on STAAR Alternate, STAAR Modified, and TAKS-M proficient results used to calculate 2012 AYP. The session also describes the option for districts to submit changes to the federal cap campus priority list used for 2012 AYP performance calculations for STAAR Modified and TAKS-M. TETN federal cap background information and TETN federal cap examples were also reviewed during the session. A PDF of this presentation is also available.

2011

November 17, 2011: November TETN Accountability Update - TEA provides the release schedule for Final 2011 AYP results, a preview of 2012 AYP processing, and information on the timeline for and review of the 2012 Texas AYP Workbook. A table of possible changes in the assessments used for 2012 AYP calculations is also provided.

August 18, 2011: August TETN Accountability Update - This TETN session provides an update to regional ESCs on preliminary 2011 AYP results, AYP appeals processing information, the release schedule for Final 2011 AYP results, and a preview of 2012 AYP processing. June 16, 2011: June TETN Accountability Update - TEA provides an update on the 2011 AYP Guide, key dates, calculations, and Frequently Asked Questions. A brief update of 2012 AYP is also provided. A PDF of this presentation is also available.

May 20, 2011: May TETN Accountability Update (updated 5/23/11) - This TETN session provides district and ESC staff with detailed information about the federal cap process on TAKS-Alt and TAKS-M proficient results used to calculate 2011 AYP. The session also describes the option for districts to submit changes to the federal cap campus priority list used for 2011 AYP performance calculations for TAKS-M. TETN federal cap background information and TETN federal cap examples were also reviewed during the session. Additional slides regarding the Federal Race/Ethnicity Provision have been added to the presentation (slides 79–82). A PDF of this presentation is also available.

December 1–3, 2010: December Texas Assessment Conference Presentation - TEA provides a review of 2010 AYP State Summary Results, a preview of 2011 AYP calculations, and information on Transition Plan Options for 2012 and beyond.

November 18, 2010: November TETN Accountability Update - TEA provides the release schedule for Final 2010 AYP results, a preview of 2011 AYP processing, and information on Transition Plan Options for 2012 and beyond.

June 23, 2010: Title I Committee of Practitioners - TEA provides an update on submitted 2010 Texas AYP Workbook amendments to the Title I Committee of Practitioners and reviews key changes to the AYP Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) website. Information was also presented that summarized the 2010 AYP Graduation Rate Changes.

February 18, 2010: February TETN Accountability Update - TEA provides a preview of the 2010 AYP process, reviews submitted Texas AYP Workbook Amendments, and information on the Texas NCLB Report Card.

January 13, 2010: Communication to Title I Committee of Practitioners - TEA provides an updated summary to the Title I Committee of Practitioners regarding Final Decisions on Proposed Amendments to the 2010 Texas AYP Workbook.

November 10, 2009: Title I Committee of Practitioners - TEA presents proposed recommendations for the 2010 Texas AYP workbook Amendments, including proposed Graduation Rate calculations.

August 20, 2009: August TETN Accountability Update - TEA gives an update to regional ESCs on preliminary 2009 AYP results, AYP appeals processing information, the release schedule for Final 2009 AYP results, and a preview of 2010 AYP processing.

June 18, 2009: June TETN Accountability Update - TEA provides an update on approved 2009 Texas AYP Workbook amendments for AYP calculations, key sections of the 2009 AYP Guide, and an analysis of final Title I changes and 2010 AYP.

May 21, 2009: May TETN Accountability Update - This TETN session provides district and ESC staff with detailed information about the federal cap process on TAKS-Alt and TAKS-M proficient results used to calculate 2009 AYP. The session also describes the option for districts to submit changes to the federal cap campus priority list used for 2009 AYP performance calculations for TAKS-M. Also provided is the 2008 NCES Summer Data Conference presentation that includes an example of the 2% Federal Cap Application.

February 19, 2009: February TETN Accountability Update - TEA provides a preview of the 2009 AYP process, information on the Texas Projection Measure and its use in 2009 AYP performance calculations, and an overview of Final Regulations related to AYP.

January 27, 2009: TASA Midwinter Conference AYP Presentation - TEA provides a review of 2008 AYP procedures and a preview of the 2009 AYP process. General information on the Texas Projection Measure (TPM) and a preview of final Title I regulations affecting future AYP calculations are also presented.

November 13, 2008: November TETN Accountability Update - TEA provides an update on preliminary state summary AYP results, timeline for AYP appeals and final release, appeals processing information, and a preview of 2009 including AYP's growth model proposal submitted to USDE.

August 14, 2008: August TETN Accountability Update - TEA provides an update on key dates for 2008 AYP, changes to the 2008 AYP Guide, and a preview of 2009 AYP. TEA also provides information on Texas Assessment Results used in 2009 State and Federal Accountability and School District Processing Documentation for the Completion Rate for the Class of 2008.

June 11, 2008: June TETN Accountability Update - TEA provides an update on state and federal accountability, including USDE 2008 Texas AYP Workbook amendments and AYP timeline. TEA also provides new information on AYP Frequently Asked Questions about the Federal Cap Process.

May 23, 2008: May TETN Accountability Update - This TETN session provides district and ESC staff with detailed information about the federal cap process on TAKS-Alt and TAKS-M proficient results used to calculate 2008 AYP. The session also describes the option for districts to submit changes to the federal cap campus rankings used for 2008 AYP performance calculations for TAKS-M. Background information and examples were also reviewed during the session.

April 24, 2008: April TETN Accountability Update - TEA provides an update on proposed 2008 Texas AYP Workbook amendments, AYP timeline, 2008 federal cap decisions, and demonstrations of the new federal cap process.

January 29, 2008: TASA Midwinter Conference AYP Presentation - TEA gives an update on the assessments that will be used to determine 2008 AYP, the timeline for 2008 AYP assessments, and preliminary information on the 2008 AYP federal cap development process.

2007

December 4, 2007: Texas Assessment Conference Update on the Federal Accountability System and Update to Title I ESC Staff - TEA provides an update to Title I ESC Staff during the December Title I ESC Staff meeting. The same information was presented at the Texas Assessment Conference and includes the release schedule for Final 2007 AYP results plus a preview of 2008 AYP, including a tentative schedule of the 2008 AYP results.

November 15, 2007: November TETN Accountability Update - TEA provides an update on release schedules, changes in assessments, and information on 2008 AYP processing.

September 18, 2007: AYP Update to Title I ESC Staff - TEA provides an update on Preliminary 2007 AYP results, the release schedule for Final 2007 AYP results, and a preview of 2008 AYP processing during the September Title I ESC Staff meeting. Further AYP information was provided during concurrent Fall Academy for Not-So-New Coordinators training.

August 16, 2007: August TETN Accountability Update - TEA gives an update to regional ESCs on the preliminary 2007 AYP results. An updated list of assessments that will be included in 2008 AYP was also provided during the presentation.

December 11, 2006: ESC Title I/Texas Assessment Conference AYP Presentation - TEA gives an update on the process used in evaluating requests for exceptions in appeals.

September 18, 2006: AYP Update to Title I ESC Staff - TEA provides an update on 2006 AYP results and preview of 2007 AYP processing during the September Title I ESC Staff meeting.

November 14, 2006: November TETN Accountability Update - TEA provides the release schedule for Final 2006 AYP results and an overview of the 2007 AYP Process. This presentation includes changes to the AYP calculation due to the 11/13/06 letter from the Commissioner on new federal assessment and AYP requirements affecting recent immigrant English Language Learners (ELLs).

August 22, 2006: August TETN Accountability Presentation - TEA provides information on preliminary 2006 AYP results and appeals as part of its August 22 Accountability TETN session.

April 12, 2006: Association for Compensatory Educators of Texas (ACET) - State and Federal presentation includes an overview of changes to both the state accountability and AYP process in future years. TEA also delivered a presentation on the use of confidence intervals in 2005 AYP appeals.
