PEIMS 2016-2017 Data Collection Schedule

PEIMS data files are submitted four times each school year following a schedule established by the TEDS PEIMS Data Standards:

TSDS Collections

  • TSDS ready to load data to eDM: August 1, 2016
 

TSDS PEIMS Collections

  • All TSDS PEIMS Collections ready for users to load data to eDM: August 1, 2016
  • All TSDS PEIMS Collections ready for users to promote data: August 1, 2016

 

Fall (Collection 1)

Fall data are used to:

  • Calculate compensatory entitlement
  • Monitor special programs
  • Report to the federal government
  • Calculate retention
  • Calculate basic profiles for AEIS
  • Perform desk audits

Important Fall dates:

  • Close of school-start window (last Friday in September): September 30, 2016
  • Snapshot Date (Last Friday in October): October 28, 2016
  • TSDS PEIMS ready for users to complete, approve and accept submissions: October 31, 2016
  • Requests to Retire Unique IDs due at TEA: December 2, 2016
  • First submission due date for LEAs and ESCs: December 8, 2016
  • Requests to Retire Unique IDs due at TEA: January 13, 2017
  • Resubmission due date for LEAs and ESCs: January 19, 2017
  • Data available to customers: February 16, 2017

 

Midyear (Collection 2)

Midyear data include actual audited financial data from the previous year (2015-2016).

Midyear data are used to:

  • Report to the state legislature
  • Monitor special program expenditures
  • Audit districts
  • Perform desk audits

Important midyear dates:

  • TSDS PEIMS ready for users to complete, approve and accept submissions: December 19, 2016
  • First submission due date for LEAs and ESCs: January 26, 2017
  • Resubmission due date for LEAs and ESCs: February 9, 2017
  • Data available to customers: March 1, 2017

 

Summer (Collection 3)

Summer data include:

  • Student attendance data
  • Course completion data
  • Discipline data
  • Restraint data
  • Title I, Part A data

Summer data are used to:

  • Calculate FSP final allotments
  • Calculate attendance and course completion
  • Create a portion of the AEIS
  • Augment the monitoring of special programs
  • Perform desk audits

Important dates:

  • TSDS PEIMS ready for users to complete, approve and accept submissions: May 22, 2017
  • Requests to Retire Unique IDs due at TEA: June 16, 2017
  • First submission due date for LEAs: June 22, 2017
  • Requests to Retire Unique IDs due at TEA: July 14, 2017
  • Resubmission due date for LEAs: July 20, 2017*
  • Data available to customers: September 14, 2017

 

Extended Year (Collection 4)

Extended year data include:

  • Optional extended year program (OEYP) data
  • Extended school year services (ESY) data
  • Bilingual/English as a Second Language (ESL) summer school program

Extended year data are used to:

  • Calculate ESY funding
  • Calculate BIL/ESL summer school funding
  • Monitor special programs
  • Perform desk audits

Important extended year dates:

  • TSDS PEIMS ready for users to complete, approve and accept submissions: August 7, 2017
  • Requests to Retire Unique IDs due at TEA: August 25, 2017
  • First submission due date for LEAs: August 31, 2017
  • Requests to Retire Unique IDs due at TEA: September 15, 2017
  • Resubmission due date for LEAs: September 21, 2017
  • Data available to customers: October 19, 2017

 

*LEAs registered with TEA with year-round tracks ending later than June 22, 2017 may delay resubmission until two weeks following completion of the latest year-round track or August 21, 2017, whichever comes first.  However, the initial data delivery for submission 3 must still be made by June 22, 2017, for all LEAs. In no case will any resubmission be processed after August 21, 2017. Corrections made beyond August 21, 2017 will be handled by State Funding.
