Governor's Rebuild Texas Commission

The Rebuild Texas Worksheet is intended to report initial damage assessments, so that federal and state policymakers can be property informed to deliver adequate resources to support the recovery. Districts and charter schools should provide a general description of the type of damage. If a district has several campuses with damage, those can be grouped in to types of damage.  A few examples of completed worksheets can be found at Texas Worksheet Instructions and Examples. E-Rate Waiver Information

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) oversees the federal Universal Service Fund (USF), more commonly referred to as E-rate. On Oct. 6, 2017, the FCC waived certain rules and deadlines as they apply to E-rate applicants in areas affected by recent hurricanes.

DA-17-984A1 (PDF) is the Order issued by the FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau on Oct. 6, 2017, waiving certain rules and deadlines to assist school and libraries located in areas affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria.

On Oct. 26, 2017, the FCC adopted an order providing for additional relief for affected applicants. The order authorized a second 2017 filing window for districts affected, directly and indirectly, by the hurricanes. The second filing window is set to open on Nov. 13, 2017 and close on Dec. 13, 2017. This is a very short timeframe for most districts. USAC will be providing guidance soon on this order. Check  https://tea.texas.gov/Classroom_Connectivity for the latest information.

FCC-17-139A1 (PDF) is the Order issued by the FCC opening a second filing window for those affected by Hurricane Harvey.
