House Bill 2012 (83rd Regular Session) directed the commissioner of education to develop and administer a teaching and learning conditions survey for superintendents. This was part of the bill that required a similar survey for teachers and campus administrators that they completed in May and June.
The New Teacher Center (NTC) will open the TELL (Teaching, Empowering, Leading and Learning) Texas superintendent survey on Thursday, August 14, 2014. The survey will close on Friday, September 12, 2014. You will receive a letter regarding this survey with a unique access code. This survey allows superintendents to share their perspectives on teaching and learning conditions in their districts. These data will be aggregated to the regional service center level to ensure anonymity. TEA plans to post the data on the TELL Texas website approximately five weeks after the close of the survey.
We anticipate releasing the data from the teacher and campus administrator surveys soon for those campuses and districts where 50 percent or more of the educators participated, and we hope that information will be useful for you in reviewing your campus-level and district-level improvement plans.
